About

I’m Amber. I’m a wife, a mom, a grocery shopping expert, laundry pro, and a baking novice. I’m not being humble there. I’m really quite awful at baking (but I can cook, so we don’t starve).  I also ramble. I am an English major. I tend to make dependent clauses independent. Because why not? See, I just did it.  I’m also a hypocrite. I spend a lot of time silently correcting people’s grammar, but mine can be atrocious and random. I also majored in education, 7th-12th to be exact. I’m one of those weird folk who enjoys middle school. My three years there weren’t enough, so I thought “Hey, why not go back and teach the kids who don’t understand what’s happening to their bodies or where they fit in?” Great choice, actually. It’s my favorite level to teach. I like children, but a large number of small tiny humans at the same time does not thrill me. It makes me want to hide in a closet and eat an entire bag of Skittles. That’s not really healthy (not that I’m healthy, but I like to pretend).

I’m a Gemini. I love dogs. I only enjoy long walks on the beach if it’s in the direction of a pizza stand. I am a book worm, journaling novice, and slightly obsessed with Disney, Marvel, Harry Potter, and all things magical (unicorns included).

I’m married to a pretty decent guy. He puts up with my OCD and occasional anxiety regarding the organization of the refrigerator and linen closets. He’s a nice guy, and he rarely has anything negative to say about anyone. He recently accepted a new job. He works with aircraft. I don’t really know what his job entails, technically. He ensures planes are safely and appropriately repaired. But, other than that, I just like to tell people he has a Chandler job, with a Ross personality and an appetite to match Joey. I’m a Monica and a Phoebe with an envy to dress like Rachel. I didn’t mention above, but I also love “Friends”.

I love people. I make this clear because regardless of your past, regardless of your choices, I will love you. Now, if you are a “promote hate” kind of person, we may not see eye to eye. But I’ll still show you kindness because I genuinely believe that how I treat people says everything about me and little about them. Sure, I often have some “not so nice” things to say about people, and I’m guilty of gossiping. I’m never going to be able to say that I am perfect at this, and I’m okay with accepting I’m a work in progress.

I have two sons. I’m their personal Mamarazzi. They love it, but they also refuse to let it show. My oldest just wants to turn from the camera in every photo I take because he knows his cuteness might break the app. It’s possible. He is pretty adorable. I’m not biased. It’s just a fact. He’s 3 1/2, and he knows it. Apparently once infants become toddlers, they transform into independent creatures who refuse help of any kind. My son is the king of that rule. Actually, he’s a really cool little guy. My youngest is a sweet, smiling 9 month old who spent the first 6 months of his life throwing raves at night, including screaming the song of his people, sharing the dreaded, “I drank too much” after effects, and of course establishing a serious case of FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out). In all seriousness, he’s a sweet boy who has taken on a lot of obstacles in his short little life, and he’s so incredibly strong.  Perhaps the coolest part is that both of my boys are adopted.

Sometimes I can be sarcastic. Other times I can be emotional. Once in awhile I can be in a mood to vent. I like to share stories, so I’ll do that too. My blog won’t fit into any specific category, so just go ahead and assume that you’ll love it, then convince yourself that you do. If you don’t like the first 15 blog posts or fictional pieces you read, just keep going. You’ll find one you like eventually. Maybe.

Enjoy the random musings of a sleep deprived, yoga pants loving, over thinker.

  1. Oh my gosh, this is the best “About” I’ve read ever!! Girl, you had me at English major and silent grammar correction. 😉

    1. Ha! Well, I’m glad you enjoyed. If I’m going to take this blog thing “seriously”, I better learn to implement my natural sense of sarcasm. :-p

      Thank you! 🙂

  2. Sums up my sister perfectly. Oh, except you forgot your ridiculous memory and remember things from our childhood that I have apparently blanked out.
